Planning a camping adventure during your Newfoundland vacation? Then get ready for nature and wildlife. Newfoundland has amazing camping locations with lots of options for every type of explorer. What type of adventurer are you?

Choose to explore one of the well known parks like Gros Morne National Park, Terra Nova Provincial Park, and La Manche Provincial Park to experience some of the more popular destinations in Newfoundland or go further and explore more with a backcountry adventure that takes you off the beaten path to places few people are lucky enough to visit. With something for everyone, its easy to find everything from full service wheelchair accessible camping to remote wilderness locations that take a few hours to hike to.

One of our personal favorites is a hiking and camping combination that departs directly from Whale House Guest House, taking you down the East Coast Tinker’s Point Trail to the meadows of Cribbies and Tors Cove (a great place to have a picnic and watch whales), through the fishing community of Bauline, and across a high suspension bridge to the abandoned village of La Manche, right on the edge of La Manche Provincial Park. This wilderness day hike and camping adventure has it all – world class views, towering cliffs, multiple beaches to relax on along the way, great places to swim, well marked trails, and of course the usual summer mix of puffins, icebergs, and whales.

Newfoundland has 96 registered serviced campgrounds with warm showers, RV connections, and restaurants, so camping doesn’t mean you have to rough it, but with 5000 miles of coastline, it’s equally as easy to find your own private beach to have a fire, stargaze, and experience an authentic remote wilderness experience.

Need help organizing the perfect camping experience? Let Whale House Guest House help you. We’ll do everything from booking your site, suggesting a route, and even lending you some gear to make your excursion world class. So what are you waiting for? Get off the beaten path and experience the Newfoundland you came here to see.
