Our friend Newfoundsander has published a new blog post about the coming iceberg season in Newfoundland.

I saw the first one of the season faaarrr in the horizon about a month ago or more, but it wasn’t until it was confirmed on icebergfinder.com that I let myself get excited. I was expecting a influx of our giant icey pals. But alas … I saw no more until now.

Growing up on Fogo Island it wasn’t a big deal seeing them float by with their own ecosystem, or get woken in the middle of the night by the earspitting sound of them capsizing (or calving: flipping over or breaking). So I got a little jaded, and didn’t pay much mind, but now I’m like a little kid, when I read posts like this one.

One month ago a promising iceberg chart led me to believe a good iceberg season was headed our way.
